Rip Hughes and his father Cornelius made two of these drummer boy whirly gigs in the 1930's. Cornelius worked for Garwood boat works in Algonac, Michigan and was one of the finish carpenters. Rip is alive and well at ninety and living in Arizona. This is Michigan folk art at it's Best!
